Tiberius took the throne after Augustus from 14 to 37 A.D. He did not care for the job the whole time we was emperor. The only reason he wanted the job, was for the luxury, and making the Senate do all of the work. The Senate hated him for this, so they criticized him to the Roman community, until Tiberius felt like he was no longer safe. He then fled to the island of Capri. Once he arrived, he gave all of his tasks of ruling to Lucius Sejanus. Tiberius was now retired on the island of Capri for the rest of his life.
