509 B.C. - Rome becomes a Republic. There is no more kings and there is now a senate. There is now a set of laws.
218 B.C. - Hannibal and his army invade Italy, becoming apart of the Second Punic War.
45 B.C. - Julius Caesar becomes the first dictator of Rome. When Julius Caesar defeated Pompey, he became ruler of Rome, ending the Roman Republic.
44 B.C. - Julius Caesar is assassinated at the Ides of March by several members of the Senate.
27 B.C. - The Roman Empire begins, with Augustus becoming the first emperor.
64 A.D. - Nero sets a fire in Rome that lasted nine days, ruining almost all of Rome. Nero then blames it on the Christians.
80 A.D. - The Colosseum is built, which was used for entertainment to the viewers and punishment or fortune for the people who participated in the Colosseum.
122 A.D. - The Hadrian Wall is built. It was built along northern England, in an attempt to keep the barbarians out.
306 A.D. - Constantine becomes emperor, now making Rome a Christian empire.
380 A.D. - Theodosius I proclaims Christianity as the main religion in Rome.
395 A.D. - Rome splits into two empires: the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire.
410 A.D - The Visigoths attack and conquer Rome.
476 A.D. - The Western Roman Empire falls and all of Ancient Rome. The last ruler, Romulus Augustus is defeated by Germans.
