Movement of the Capital
As most of you may have heard already, our current emperor Constantine, has moved the capital east to the city of Byzantium two days ago. We figured that he wanted to move the capital there because he had grown up in the eastern area and lately, Rome wasn’t the center of politics anymore. Right when the capital was moved, Constantine didn’t hesitate to spend a fortune of money on expanding Byzantium and filling it with riches. He then renamed the city New Rome, but there are other people calling it Constantinople. Now it is official, the main power of Rome is in the east. Source: History Of Our World, pg. 275
